March 29, 2025: Catawissa, PA 17820 Southern Columbia Area Tigers (Catawissa, PA) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA), 8-2 in a non-league game.
With the triumph, Southern Columbia Area improves its record to 2-2 on the year. The Tigers travel to Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA) to face the Lancers in a Heartland III game on Tuesday, April 1. The Lancers enter the game with a record of 1-1. Loyalsock Township won 11-7 in their recent non-league game against Danville (Danville, PA)
The Golden Bears now hold a 3-2 record. They play next when they travel to Blue Mountain for a Schuylkill I game on Tuesday, April 1. Mahanoy Area will face a Eagles squad coming off a 11-3 league win over North Schuylkill (Ashland, PA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-1.
