West Virginia High School Softball - Clay County bounces Wirt County
March 30, 2024: Clay, WV 25043 Clay County Panthers (Clay, WV) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Wirt County Tigers (Elizabeth, WV), 9-1 in a league challenge.
The Panthers now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Hoover for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Clay County will face a Huskies squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Huskies record now stands at 12-1.
With the loss, Wirt County falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Roane County (Spencer, WV) to face the Raiders in a Little Kanawha challenge on Wednesday, April 3. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 9-0. Roane County won 6-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Doddridge County (West Union, WV)
