Connecticut High School Softball - Derby nudges Torrington
March 30, 2024: Derby, CT 06418 Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Torrington Raiders (Torrington, CT), 2-1 in a league challenge.
The Red Raiders now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Crosby for a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Monday, April 1. Derby will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 19-0 league loss to Oxford (Oxford, CT). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Torrington falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Holy Cross (Waterbury, CT) to face the Crusaders in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass challenge on Monday, April 1. The Crusaders enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Holy Cross lost 26-0 in their recent league challenge against Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT)
