Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hays Indians (Hays, KS), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Salina Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 6. Valley Center will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 16-1 non-league loss to Goddard (Goddard, KS). The Mustangs record now stands at 2-3.
