The Greenville Hornets baseball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Canton Tigers to 1 in the Hornets league win on Monday.

The Hornets now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Holmes County Central for a 5A Region 2 test on Tuesday, April 8.

With the defeat, Canton drops to 6-3 on the year. The Tigers host Gentry (Indianola, MS) to clash with the Rams in a 5A Region 2 test on Wednesday, April 2. The Rams go into the test with a record of 1-8.
