Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 8-7 in a non-league test.

With the win, Surry Central upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Golden Eagles host West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to battle the Blackhawks in a Foothills 2A test on Tuesday, April 4. The Blackhawks come into the test with a record of 9-4. West Wilkes won 10-4 in their recent league test against North Wilkes (Hays, NC)

With the defeat, Elkin falls to 4-8 on the season. The Buckin' elks travel to Starmount (Boonville, NC) to battle the Rams in a Northwest 1A test on Tuesday, April 4. The Rams come into the test with a record of 5-6. Starmount won 15-5 in their recent league test against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC)
