Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV), 18-17 in a non-league test.

With the win, Nitro upgrades its record to 2-7 on the season. The Wildcats host Chapmanville Regional (Chapmanville, WV) to battle the Tigers in a Cardinal test on Monday, April 3. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 6-2. Chapmanville Regional won 9-6 in their recent non-league test against St. Albans (St. Albans, WV)

With the defeat, Lincoln falls to 1-3 on the season. The Cougars host Liberty (Clarksburg, WV) to battle the Mountaineers in a Big Ten test on Monday, April 3. The Mountaineers enter the battle with a record of 0-4. Liberty lost 12-1 in their recent league battle against Philip Barbour (Philippi, WV)
