Meridian Hawks (Macon, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host MacArthur Generals (Decatur, IL), 20-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Clinton for a Central Illinois challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Meridian will face a Maroons squad coming off a 10-3 league win over Shelbyville (Shelbyville, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, MacArthur falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Generals travel to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond won 19-2 in their recent league challenge against Arcola (Arcola, IL)
