North Carolina High School Softball - West Wilkes bounces Wilkes Central
April 2, 2024: Millers Creek, NC 28651 West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), 15-0 in a league challenge.
The Blackhawks now own a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they host Crest for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. West Wilkes will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 9-1.
With the loss, Wilkes Central falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to battle the Greyhounds in a Foothills 2A challenge on Thursday, April 4. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a record of 2-8. North Surry lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
