April 2, 2025: Taylorsville, NC 28681 The Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) baseball trounced the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), 10-4 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.
The Cougars now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashe County for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, April 4. Alexander Central will clash with a Huskies team coming off a 10-0 non-league win over West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 9-7.
With the defeat, Wilkes Central drops to 4-11 on the year. The Eagles host North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to clash with the Greyhounds in a Foothills 2A challenge on Friday, April 4. The Greyhounds go into the challenge with a record of 7-6. North Surry won 14-5 in their recent league challenge against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC)
