Mitchell Bluejackets (Mitchell, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Eastern Musketeers (Pekin, IN), 16-12 in a non-league challenge.

The Bluejackets now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Paoli for a Patoka Lake challenge on Friday, April 5. Mitchell will battle a Rams squad coming off a 22-5 non-league win over Shoals (Shoals, IN). The Rams record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Eastern falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Musketeers travel to Brownstown Central (Brownstown, IN) to battle the Braves in a Mid-Southern challenge on Thursday, April 4. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Brownstown Central lost 11-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Columbus East (Columbus, IN)
