April 3, 2023: Hemingway, SC 29554 Spectators at Monday's non-league battle between the Marlboro County Bulldogs (Bennettsville, SC) and the host Hemingway Tigers (Hemingway, SC), saw Marlboro County's baseball squad knock off Hemingway by a count of 20-0.
Coming up next, the Bulldogs play the Lakewood Gators (Sumter, SC) in a 3A Region 6 battle, on Tuesday, April 4. Marlboro County will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Gators enter the battle with a 0-1 record after their 8-4 non-league loss to East Clarendon (Turbeville, SC).
The Tigers now possess a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Johnsonville for a 1A Region 5 battle on Wednesday, April 5. Hemingway will play a Flashes squad coming off a 14-7 non-league win over St. James (Murrells Inlet, SC). The Flashes record now stands at 4-1.
