Ohio High School Softball - St. Vincent-St. Mary nudges Gilmour Academy
April 3, 2023: Akron, OH 44303 St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish (Akron, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gilmour Academy Lancers (Gates Mills, OH), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Fighting Irish now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Canton South for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. St. Vincent-St. Mary will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (Cuyahoga Falls, OH). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, Gilmour Academy falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Magnificat (Rocky River, OH) to face the Blue Streaks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Blue Streaks enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Magnificat won 20-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Brush (Lyndhurst, OH)
