April 4, 2024: Lafayette, LA 70506 The Lafayette Lions baseball team (Lafayette, LA), was overwhelmed 19-0 in Thursday's league outing with the visiting Barbe Buccaneers (Lake Charles, LA)
The Buccaneers now possess a 24-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sulphur for a 5A District 3 bout on Saturday, April 6. Barbe will face a Golden Tors team coming off a 4-1 league win over Southside (Youngsville, LA). The Golden Tors record now stands at 20-7.
Next, the Lions face the Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA) in a 5A District 3 bout, on Saturday, April 6. Lafayette will attempt to move on its 5-19 season record. The Bears enter the bout with a 9-16 record after their 6-2 league loss to Acadiana (Lafayette, LA).
