The crowd at Friday's league battle between the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes (Buxton, NC) and the visiting Mattamuskeet Lakers (Swan Quarter, NC), saw Cape Hatteras's baseball team beat Mattamuskeet by a margin of 9-1.

The Hurricanes (8-5) will now prepare for their battle against Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC). The Bears enter the Atlantic 1A battle with a 12-1 record. In their last battle, Bear Grass Charter gained a win over Ocracoke (Ocracoke, NC), 19-0, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Mattamuskeet drops to 1-8 on the year. The Lakers travel to Columbia (Columbia, NC) to clash with the Wildcats in a Atlantic 1A challenge on Monday, April 7.
