The Ridgemont Golden Gophers edged the host Botkins Trojans softball squad by a count of 8-7 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Golden Gophers play the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) in a Northwest Central challenge, on Tuesday, April 7. Ridgemont will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Comets enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 13-0 non-league loss to Hayes (Delaware, OH).

The Trojans (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Fairlawn (Sidney, OH). The Jets enter the Shelby County battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Fairlawn was tipped by Houston (Houston, OH), 17-2, in a league battle.
