In Monday's non-league contest, the West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC) softball team held off the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC), by a margin of 4-3.

With the triumph, West Stanly moves its record to 6-0 on the year. The Colts host Central Academy of Technology and Arts (Monroe, NC) to play the Cougars in a Rocky River 2A contest on Monday, April 12. The Cougars come into the contest with a record of 0-5.

In their next game, the Spartans play the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A contest, on Wednesday, April 7. South Caldwell will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Red Tornadoes come into the contest with a 3-4 record after their 3-2 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC).
