April 5, 2024: Springfield, IL 62703 Springfield Southeast Spartans (Springfield, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), 11-1 in a league test.
With the win, Springfield Southeast upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Spartans host Jersey (Jerseyville, IL) to battle the Panthers in a non-league test on Saturday, April 6. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 7-4. Jersey won 13-3 in their recent non-league test against Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL)
With the defeat, Lanphier falls to 1-8 on the season. The Lions travel to Rochester (Rochester, IL) to battle the Rockets in a Central State Eight test on Tuesday, April 9. The Rockets come into the test with a record of 6-4.
