Texas High School Softball - Pearland holds off Alvin
April 5, 2024: Pearland, TX 77588 Spectators at Friday's league match between the Pearland Oilers (Pearland, TX) and the visiting Alvin Yellowjackets (Alvin, TX), witnessed Pearland's softball squad tip Alvin by a count of 9-7.
The Oilers now sport a 24-2 record. They play next when they travel to Dawson for a 6A Region III District 23 match on Tuesday, April 9. Pearland will face a Eagles squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Alief Taylor (Houston, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 16-6.
With the loss, Alvin moves to 22-4 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Shadow Creek (Pearland, TX) to face the Sharks in a 6A Region III District 23 match on Tuesday, April 9. The Sharks go into the match with a record of 12-17. Shadow Creek won 15-0 in their recent league match against Alief Elsik (Houston, TX)
