Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), 6-4 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Alexander Central improves its record to 16-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to face the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A game on Tuesday, April 8.
