The Newton South Lions triumphed over the host Masconomet Regional Chieftains softball squad by a count of 17-5 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Lions play the Boston Latin Wolfpack (Boston, MA) in a Dual County Large challenge, on Monday, April 7. Newton South will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Wolfpack enter the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 20-7 league loss to Westford Academy (Westford, MA).

In their next game, the Chieftains battle the Haverhill Hillies (Haverhill, MA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 7. Masconomet Regional will attempt to better on its 0-3 season record.
