Coaches Game Summary

Wes Robertson had two hits and an RBI, and Dan Schock added three hits, an RBI and got the save as the Cheshire baseball team picked up its first victory of the season with a 3-1 SCC interdivsion win over No. 9 Notre Dame-West Haven on Saturday in West Haven. Schock drove in Kevin Mirando, who had reached on an error, in the fifth for the game winner. Adam VonFischer scored the first run for Cheshire (1-2) on a wild pitch in the second, and Robertson drove in Ryan Pierpont, who singled and stole second, in the sixth inning. Relief pitcher Dan Schock struck out Brandon Winne with runners on first and second in the bottom of the seventh to win it for the Rams in West Haven. Ryan Pierpont and Adam vonFischer each singled and scored a run. Christian Colp (1-0) allowed six hits and struck out two over 6 2/3 innings. Troy Terzi went the distance for Notre Dame-West Haven (2-1) in a losing effort.
