April 6, 2024: Independence, LA 70443 Independence Tigers (Independence, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Capitol Lions (Baton Rouge, LA), 1-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 11-9 on the season. The Tigers host French Settlement (French Settlement, LA) to battle the Lions in a 2A District 7 test on Monday, April 8. The Lions come into the test with a record of 13-14. French Settlement won 11-1 in their recent non-league test against Albany (Albany, LA)
With the defeat, Capitol falls to 0-6 on the season. The Lions travel to East Iberville (St. Gabriel, LA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league test on Saturday, April 13. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 12-8.
