Louisiana High School Softball - Academy of Our Lady holds off St. Thomas More
April 6, 2024: Lafayette, LA 70508 The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Academy of Our Lady Penguins (Marrero, LA) and the host St. Thomas More Cougars (Lafayette, LA), saw Academy of Our Lady's softball squad nip St. Thomas More by a count of 11-9.
The Penguins now sport a 16-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Joseph's Academy for a non-league match on Saturday, April 6. Academy of Our Lady will face a Redstickers squad coming off a 8-3 non-league win over David Thibodaux (Lafayette, LA). The Redstickers record now stands at 18-7.
With the loss, St. Thomas More falls to 27-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Sulphur (Sulphur, LA) to clash with the Golden Tors in a non-league test on Monday, April 8. The Golden Tors come into the test with a record of 19-10. Sulphur lost 4-3 in their recent league test against Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA)
