Escalon Cougars (Escalon, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Riverbank Bruins (Riverbank, CA), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ripon for a Trans Valley League challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Escalon will battle a Indians squad coming off a 12-1 league win over Hilmar (Hilmar, CA). The Indians record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, Riverbank falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Bruins host Livingston (Livingston, CA) to battle the Wolves in a Trans Valley League challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 5-13. Livingston won 9-8 in their recent league challenge against Hughson (Hughson, CA)
