The Upper St. Clair Panthers edged the host Montour Spartans softball squad by a count of 7-6 in Monday's league challenge.

Next, the Panthers play the West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 3 challenge, on Wednesday, April 9. Upper St. Clair will attempt to upgrade on its 5-0 season record. The Indians enter the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 6-2 league win over Moon Area (Moon Township, PA).

The Spartans (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against South Fayette (McDonald, PA). The Lions enter the WPIAL 5A 3 challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, South Fayette edged Mars (Mars, PA), 20-3, in a non-league challenge.
