Southridge Skyhawks (Beaverton, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gresham Gophers (Gresham, OR), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Skyhawks now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wilsonville for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 12.

With the loss, Gresham falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Gophers host Sandy (Sandy, OR) to battle the Pioneers in a 6A Mt. Hood challenge on Thursday, April 11. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Sandy won 6-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Liberty (Hillsboro, OR)
