April 9, 2025: Newark, NJ 07108 The Payne Tech Lions baseball team scored 17 runs and held the host Shabazz Bulldogs to 1 in the Lions league win on Wednesday.
The Lions now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Westampton Tech for a non-league test on Thursday, April 10. Payne Tech will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 7-1 non-league loss to Doane Academy (Burlington, NJ). The Panthers record now stands at 2-2.
With the defeat, Shabazz drops to 2-2 on the year. The Bulldogs host Orange (Orange, NJ) to clash with the Tornadoes in a non-league test on Friday, April 11. The Tornadoes go into the test with a record of 0-5. Orange lost 19-3 in their recent non-league test against East Side (Newark, NJ)
