East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) supporters left the game pleased Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), 9-4 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, East Columbus improves its record to 13-2 on the year. The Gators host Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC) to play the Titans in a Waccamaw 1A/2A game on Monday, April 14. The Titans enter the game with a record of 11-4. Heide Trask won 10-0 in their recent league game against South Columbus (Tabor City, NC)

The Screaming Eagle now hold a 2-16 record. They play next when they host Laney for a Mideastern 3A/4A game on Thursday, April 10. Ashley will play a Buccaneers squad coming off a 2-1 league win over South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 11-2.
