North Carolina High School Softball - East Burke succumbs to R-S Central

April 9, 2025: Rutherfordton, NC 28139

In Wednesday's non-league test, the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC), by a tally of 11-2.

Next, the Hilltoppers clash with the Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC) in a Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A test, on Friday, April 11. R-S Central will attempt to advance on its 12-3 season record. The Bearcats go into the test with a 4-8 record after their 15-4 league loss to Polk County (Columbus, NC).

The Cavaliers (4-14) will now prepare for their test against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC). The Rebels go into the Catawba Valley Athletic 2A test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, West Lincoln was routed by West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC), 2-0, in a league test.
