The South Mecklenburg Sabres softball team scored 4 runs and held the visiting Sun Valley Spartans to 2 in the Sabres non-league win on Wednesday.

The Sabres now possess a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ardrey Kell for a So Meck 4A battle on Thursday, April 10. South Mecklenburg will confront a Knights team coming off a 9-2 league win over Myers Park (Charlotte, NC). The Knights record now stands at 11-7.

With the loss, Sun Valley moves to 6-8 on the season. The Spartans travel to Weddington (Matthews, NC) to confront the Warriors in a Southern Carolina 4A battle on Friday, April 11. The Warriors come into the battle with a record of 14-1. Weddington won 13-2 in their recent league battle against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)
