The Western Branch Bruins triumphed over the visiting Isle of Wight Academy Chargers softball squad by a count of 14-1 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Bruins play the Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) in a Southeastern challenge, on Tuesday, April 22. Western Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 7-1 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 8-3 league loss to Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA).

The Chargers (4-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Broadwater Academy (Exmore, VA). The Vikings enter the non-league challenge with a 8-1 record. In their last challenge, Broadwater Academy overcame Chincoteague (Chincoteague, VA), 10-0, in a non-league challenge.
