Spectators at Thursday's non-league battle between the Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, MS) and the host Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS), saw Columbia's baseball squad knock off Loyd Star by a count of 3-1.

Coming up next, the Wildcats play the North Forrest Eagles (Hattiesburg, MS) in a non-league battle, on Friday, April 12. Columbia will attempt to move on its 15-9 season record. The Eagles enter the battle with a 6-16 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to Sumrall (Sumrall, MS).
