The East Central Hornets the visiting Stone Tomcats softball squad by a count of 6-2 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Hornets play the Neshoba Central Rockets (Philadelphia, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, April 12. East Central will attempt to upgrade on its 21-5 season record. The Rockets enter the challenge with a 13-7 record after their 10-6 league loss to Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS).

The Tomcats (14-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Laurel (Laurel, MS). The Golden Tornadoes enter the 5A Region 4 challenge with a 2-13 record.
