Alabama High School Soccer - Elkmont overwhelmed by Athens
April 12, 2022: Elkmont, AL 35620 In Tuesday's non-league battle, the visiting Athens Golden Eagles soccer squad scored a close 6-1 triumph over the Elkmont Red Devils.
The Golden Eagles (5-9) will now prepare for their battle against Buckhorn (New Market, AL). The Bucks come into the 6A Area 16 battle with a 5-9 record. In their last battle, Buckhorn was overwhelmed by Whitesburg Christian Academy (Huntsville, AL), 4-1, in a non-league outing.
In their next game, the Red Devils battle the Tanner Rattlers (Tanner, AL) in a 1A-3A Region 8 outing, on Wednesday, April 13. Elkmont will attempt to move on its 8-10 season record. The Rattlers go into the outing with a 4-8 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to West Morgan (Trinity, AL).
