New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Olton Mustangs (Olton, TX), 3-2 in a league test.

With the win, New Deal upgrades its record to 13-5 on the season. The Lions travel to Ralls (Ralls, TX) to battle the Jackrabbits in a 2A Region I District 3 test on Tuesday, April 16. The Jackrabbits come into the test with a record of 5-16.

With the defeat, Olton falls to 8-14 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Sudan (Sudan, TX) to battle the Hornets in a 2A Region I District 3 test on Wednesday, April 17. The Hornets come into the test with a record of 11-6.
