Southwest Guilford Cowboys (High Point, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Cowboys now sport a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southeast Guilford for a Metro 4A challenge on Tuesday, April 16. Southwest Guilford will face a Falcons squad coming off a 14-1 league win over Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Northern Guilford falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Northwest Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to face the Vikings in a Metro 4A challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 14-2. Northwest Guilford lost 8-3 in their recent non-league challenge against High Point Christian Academy (High Point, NC)
