Virginia High School Baseball - Abingdon holds off Gonzaga
April 12, 2025: Abingdon, VA 24210 The Abingdon Falcons baseball team scored 4 runs and held the visiting Gonzaga Eagles to 0 in the Falcons non-league win on Saturday.
The Falcons now hold a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Princess Anne for a non-league test on Saturday, April 12. Abingdon will play a Cavaliers team coming off a 17-4 non-league win over Manteo (Manteo, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 6-1.
With the defeat, Gonzaga drops to 11-6 on the year. The Eagles travel to Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, VA) to play the Knights in a Washington Catholic test on Wednesday, April 16. The Knights go into the test with a record of 12-4. Bishop O'Connell won 8-7 in their recent league test against Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA)
