Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Andrean Fighting 59ers (Merrillville, IN), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Kougars now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Highland for a Northwest Crossroads challenge on Friday, April 16. Kankakee Valley will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Andrean falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Fighting 59ers host Hobart (Hobart, IN) to battle the Brickies in a Northwest Crossroads challenge on Friday, April 16. The Brickies enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Hobart won 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Wheeler (Valparaiso, IN)
