Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Economedes Jaguars (Edinburg, TX), 16-4 in a league challenge.

The Sabercats now own a 2-14 record. They take the field next when they host Mission for a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. Vela will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Economedes (Edinburg, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 19-7.

With the loss, Economedes falls to 3-15 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX) to battle the Raiders in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 24-1. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX)
