April 15, 2024: Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 The crowd at Monday's league match between the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) and the visiting North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC), saw East Surry's softball squad achieve victory over North Surry by a count of 15-0.
The Cardinals now sport a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host East Wilkes for a non-league match on Wednesday, April 17. East Surry will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 14-2.
With the loss, North Surry falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to face the Blackhawks in a Foothills 2A match on Tuesday, April 16. The Blackhawks enter the match with a record of 11-0. West Wilkes won 2-0 in their recent league match against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
