April 15, 2024: Lexington, KY 40509 The Frederick Douglass Broncos (Lexington, KY) softball nipped the visiting Madison Southern Eagles (Berea, KY), 10-9 in Monday's non-league bout.
The Broncos (9-5) will now prepare for their bout against West Jessamine (Nicholasville, KY). The Colts go into the non-league bout with a 14-2 record. In their last bout, West Jessamine was edged by Mercer County (Harrodsburg, KY), 1-0, in a league bout.
The Eagles now possess a 5-9 record. They play next when they host South Laurel for a non-league bout on Tuesday, April 16. Madison Southern will confront a Cardinals squad coming off a 6-4 non-league loss to Middlesboro (Middlesboro, KY). The Cardinals record now stands at 10-5.
