Virginia High School Softball - Northumberland bounces West Point
April 15, 2024: West Point, VA 23181 Northumberland Indians (Heathsville, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Point Pointers (West Point, VA), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Indians now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Colonial Beach for a Northern Neck challenge on Friday, April 19. Northumberland will battle a Drifters squad coming off a 13-7 non-league loss to Christchurch School (Christchurch, VA). The Drifters record now stands at 1-8.
With the loss, West Point falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Pointers travel to King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA) to battle the Royal Tigers in a Tidewater challenge on Tuesday, April 16. The Royal Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. King & Queen Central won 16-14 in their recent league challenge against Charles City (Charles City, VA)
