April 16, 2024: Millers Creek, NC 28651 The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) and the visiting North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC), saw West Wilkes's softball squad achieve victory over North Surry by a count of 12-0.
The Blackhawks now sport a 12-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Surry Central for a Foothills 2A match on Friday, April 19. West Wilkes will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 4-7.
With the loss, North Surry falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC) to face the Eagles in a Foothills 2A match on Friday, April 19. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 2-10. Wilkes Central lost 15-0 in their recent league match against North Wilkes (Hays, NC)
