The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Johnston City Indians (Johnston City, IL) and the visiting Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL), observed Johnston City's softball team get by Murphysboro by a tally of 9-2.

The Indians (7-6) will now prepare for their bout against Vienna (Vienna, IL). The Eagles go into the Black Diamond West bout with a 6-9 record. In their last bout, Vienna tipped Carrier Mills-Stonefort (Carrier Mills, IL), 11-1, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Red Devils battle the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, April 19. Murphysboro will attempt to advance on its 4-13 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 18-0 league win over Collinsville (Collinsville, IL).
