Central Wildcats (Baton Rouge, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northshore for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 19. Central will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over New Iberia (New Iberia, LA). The Panthers record now stands at 16-4.

With the loss, Covington falls to 17-10 on the campaign.
