Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Central Catholic Eagles (Morgan City, LA), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 19-15 record. They take the field next when they host St. Mary's Academy for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 19. Catholic of Pointe Coupee will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 9-2 non-league win over Central Private (Baker, LA). The Cougars record now stands at 4-19.

With the loss, Central Catholic falls to 14-14 on the campaign.
