Illinois High School Baseball - Illini Central nips Auburn
April 18, 2023: Auburn, IL 62615 Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Auburn Trojans (Auburn, IL), 9-8 in a league test.
With the win, Illini Central upgrades its record to 2-8 on the season. The Cougars host Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL) to battle the Trojans in a Sangamo test on Thursday, April 20. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 14-3. Maroa-Forsyth won 4-3 in their recent non-league test against LeRoy (LeRoy, IL)
With the defeat, Auburn falls to 4-7 on the season. The Trojans travel to Olympia (Stanford, IL) to battle the Spartans in a Sangamo test on Thursday, April 20. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 1-16. Olympia lost 8-5 in their recent league test against Riverton (Riverton, IL)
