In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Wheeling Park Patriots softball team scored a tight 7-2 victory over the Lincoln Cougars.

The Patriots (13-11) will now prepare for their match against University (Morgantown, WV). The Hawks go into the Class AAAA North Region match with a 13-4 record. In their last match, University tipped Parkersburg South (Parkersburg, WV), 5-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Preston Knights (Kingwood, WV) in a Big Ten match, on Monday, April 20. Lincoln will attempt to better on its 10-4 season record. The Knights go into the match with a 7-10 record after their 12-2 non-league win over Tucker County (Hambleton, WV).
