In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Lee County Yellow Jackets baseball team scored a tight 9-4 victory over the Apex Friendship Patriots.

The Yellow Jackets (17-4) will now prepare for their game against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC). The Fighting Scots go into the Sandhills 3A/4A game with a 11-7 record. In their last game, Scotland tipped Lumberton (Lumberton, NC), 6-3, in a non-league game.

The Patriots (11-8) will now prepare for their game against Cary (Cary, NC). The Imps go into the Southwest Wake 4A game with a 5-12 record. In their last game, Cary was overwhelmed by Green Hope (Cary, NC), 5-4, in a league game.
